COMPARATIVE EFFECTS OF KNEE BRACE VERSUS LATERAL WEDGE FOR PATIENT WITH MEDIAL COMPARTMENT KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS

Abstract

Aim: To compare the effect lateral knee wedge verses knee braces in medial compartment knee osteoarthritis Methods:an experimental study were conducted in isra university hydrabad. In this study 30 patient were included in which lateral wedge is applied to 15 patients and knee braces is applied to 15 patients. Purposive sampling technique were use in this study.NPRS and KOOS quiestionare is used in this study for pre and post assessment. Results: there are 30 pateint included in this study in which 12 are male which is estimated as 44.6% and 18 were female which is estimated as 55.4.mean pre value of koos score in lateral wedge is 45.75 and post is 78.08. mean pre value of NPRS in lateral wedge is 7.6 and post value is 4.8. in knee braces pre value is 4.9 and post value is 3.2. Conclusion:lateral wedge is more effective in medial compartment of knee osteoarthritis when comparing with knee braces.
